The reviews on ModDB paint a grim (albeit satisfyingly masochistic) picture: for some, Misery Mod can be on the far side of way, way too hard. There is a wealth of audiovisual changes here, three classes to work with and even a homicidal cat mutant.
And medics? Well, they're no longer willing to do it for charity. Your bandages will not miraculously heal you. Weapons get auto-holstered when you use items, running is entirely dependent on how much you're wielding. All warnings about emissions, outside of the blaring of the sirens, have been removed. Bloodsuckers? They've figured out how to stop panting so loudly. The NPCs are smarter, the local ecosystem considerably more brutal. With the Misery Mod, you're no longer a free agent but a member of the Ukrainian Special Services.
